What is Boys To Men?

We are friends, mentors, role models, and guides to teens ready to take the most challenging journey of their lives. What happens on the Boys To Men weekend?

We guide you on the adventure of your life. The Boys To Men weekend is where the journey begins. It is challenging and exhilarating. Sometimes it’s scary and sometimes it’s fun. Many young men say it was the best weekend of thier lives.

Is this worth my time?

That’s up to you. But if one or more of these is true for you, it probably is:

My life works pretty well right now, but I want more.
I don’t like the way some men act and I want to find a way to be different?
I’m struggling with issues or problems I don’t know how to solve. I don’t even know if it’s POSSIBLE to solve them.
I’d like to have more really close friends, or have more close friendships with adult men.

Is Boys To Men about teaching me to be a man?

No. We don’t do much teaching. We ask you what you want in your life, and then help you make it happen.Is this going to be fun?
Yes, the program is fun. But Boys To Men is also very challenging, so if you are only looking for fun, this isn’t for you.

How much time does this take?

The first thing you do with Boys To Men is a weekend training adventure. It begins Friday afternoon and ends Sunday afternoon. Following the weekend, you can participate in “journeymen groups.” Activities are scheduled once or twice a month.

How strong or smart do I have to be?

Strength and smarts don’t have anything to do with this program.

How old do I need to be?

Boys as young as 11 and as old as 18 have done the program. If you feel ready, you probably are.

What do “journeymen groups” do?

Sometimes they play paintball or go camping. Sometimes they do activities like those on the Boys To Men weekend. Sometimes they’re just a place to share what’s going on in your life and get support.

After I do Boys To Men, can I be on staff?

Yes. After you’ve gained some leadership skills from the journeymen groups you can apply to be on staff for a Boys To Men weekend. Young men travel from all over the United States to staff Boys To Men weekends.
